Aprašymas

Russian-occupied Baku, 1910: a Muslim Azerbaijani boy and a Christian Georgian girl fall into star-crossed love in this moving and compelling epic.

Ali and Nino fall for one another while still at school in the years before the First World War. Amid the turbulence that follows the Ottoman Empire's entry into the war, the pair can finally marry. Though poor, their life is blissful. Then comes the Russian revolution, and chaos reigns across the central Asian region. As their home city changes hands, the pair flee in exile to Tehran, where divides of religion, culture and politics will threaten their loyalty as never before.
